Could I ask if people, generally, are bringing cooking equipment and such like? Should I invest in a camping stove or not? If yes I suspect a kettle might be useful?

My thought was that we would be eating (and drinking) in pubs but if people are cooking then I don't want to starve! I do have my figure to maintain after all!

Help me out. I am new to all this roughing it carry on.

Ray will be taking a little stove to to tea and COFFEE on. He always does. He's also taking a BBQ - he did put this in a post quite early on. So bring some burgers...and anything you want to eat with them.
I'm going to source some coffee from work.

Bring a mug.

I am bringing a small gas camping burner, picked it up in millets £9.99 ( even has a picture of a bike on box) very small. just for the odd cup of coffee/tea and will bring a few cup-a-soup.As Gina said Ray is bringing a gas BBQ and I am going to bring a few burgers (or burglers) for that.
Anybody know if the pubs do breakfasts?

I'm bringing a small gas burner along as well as I will be unable to function first thing in the morning without tea and I have got some bratwursts to bring along as well.

Taking a single burner for coffee, like Gina I am grumpy until I have had my coffee. Hoping there is a village shop for bbq stuff, as no room to take food, as two up, and all the gear!

Ray - it's been said many times before but you've done a fantastic job of organising this weekend.... there's not many people with the will power (STUBBORNESS ) to carry this gig off... .. i take my hat off to you.... might even buy you a brew at Knott End one day ...

My other vice is windsurfing (whenever time, tide Etc allow). Anyway, as any windsurfer would agree, we're a geeky lot when it comes to weather.
I've been keeping an eye on things as well for the weekend and thought I'd share a couple of sites we use which we tend to rely on...
Just another thing to help build up the anticipation...

Would like to echo the earlier comments Ray, you've done a cracking job to keep this going and we're in your debt... I reckon It's free beer for you for the the weekend..

Now it's all up to us to start ringing up the Met office and telling them what the weather had better be or else!

Just to BUMP this up again:

If any the York or local crowd want to meet for the ride up, we'll be at ASDA filling station at Monks Cross around 11.00 am on the Saturday.
Weather or not, promises to be a fine weekend!
Cheers,

The bike just had it's MOT today. It failed on headlight adjustment. I don't think my adjustment measurements in the garage last night were strictly accurate.

But the very nice examiner sorted it out and it's all passed.

And now it's all fuelled up, tidy and loaded, ready to roll.

See you all tomorrow!

I'm already half way...just not on a bike!!
OK so now I've finished swearing at the screen whilst putting it on I've just got to clean her, fill her up, pack the luggage on the bike....

Oh and I got to get some coffee...I got some from work just left it at home...

Oh and for the record......

I don't have the t-shirts. It's a really long story and I'm not telling it here, it's for over a beer.
Needless to say I'll be passing a bit of paper around for addresses and posting them next week. Sorry chucks, it really was beyond my control.
OK I asked the bloke who knows the person who's doing them and she said "what order?"......
I've spent the whole of this morning on the phone to Ray, and various companies in Bristol and at one point they were gonna be done this afternoon for me to bring up here tonight; however due to a mixup in files (they needed a pdf of the pic, I only had it as a jpeg and no means to convert it) they admited defeat on the 5pm deadline at 3 - the bloke who could do the work to the file had gone to see someone else.... So they WILL be with you all by the end of next week - except maybe Gordie.. - and the good news is anyone who wanted one and couldn't get one now can. The other good news I should be getting them for slightly cheaper and so shouldn't need any money towards postage!

But I have the badges!!!

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....
