To save people going through all this thread, here is what is happening so if you want to join us please post in here..

UK Meet at Hollins Farm, Boot, in the heart of the Lake District, this is scheduled for 2nd 3rd and 4th May 2008. You will need a tent and the campsite charge £7.60 per person per night.

If you want to stop for one night that is fine, the majority of people are stopping on the Saturday night.

If you want to put faces to names of people on here, put your name down.. I will PM you with my address details to forward your payment to me. Please make cheques payable to Mr R Birch and Mrs M R Birch, not forgetting to put your Ba.com name on the reverse

We are also in the process of having either a badge made for this ocaassion or a T shirt, Gina (GinaS)is trying to sort a good price for these.

Let's make this the biggest UK meet to date..

Perhaps we should start a "Topics for the discussion thereof" thread, so the whole night isn't taken up with talk of chrome and exhausts and mods and which colour's the fastest(black) and...well, y'get the picture!!!

Here are my 2 suggestions. The first is something to ease us into non-bike conversation, in that it's kinda related:

the general competency of cage drivers in Britain today.

Way off topic:

is space exploration a worthwhile investment or would the money be better spent on things closer to home? (Eradicating poverty, for example)

And here's me thinking that what the meets are all about, a good natter about our bikes and modifications done, going to be done while sipping a nice beer.

Another week and we are into December, so remember I need the cheques off you before the 1st Jan to have them banked so I can write a cheque to the campsite.

Also remember the whole world will be posting Christmas cards at the same time if you leave it to late..

THIS MAYBE YOUR LAST CHANCE TO JOIN US IN THE LAKE DISTRICT, SO DON'T BE SHY POST IN THIS THREAD BELOW. YOU MAY REGRET NOT DOING

I have had a PM asking a few questions:-

[1]Average age, well I am 48 or will be in January,

[2]We all know each other, not true there are at least 12 people who are turning up that I have never met.

[3]Where do we meet, we will meet up in various places as people are coming from the North and South, usually people will post a meeting place in the thread and it is normally within a few miles of your own home.

If anyone has any more questions just PM me, don't feel as though you will be on your own all weekend we are a group and all have one interest in common and that is our bikes.

Hey Ray,

Whoever posted you:

1) I suppose average age is somewhere around mid 40's, although it ranges from mid 20's (Gina! ) to mid 60's(sorry couldn't find an emoticom with a zimmer frame!!!! )

2) Nope as Ray said we are meeting new people all the time, and meeting old friends. But they are all a great bunch, very friendly!!! (even Ray ) This is the biggest meet yet, so we will all be meeting new people for the first time.

3) Watch this post closer to the time, as Ray said we organise a few meeting places on route. All you have to do is be there at the allotted time.

That's why I love these weekends...I've met some really nice people...and it's always good to put a face to the name.

just realised that if I can make the meet then I'll need some new camping equipment. This time of year is the best time to buy as the sales are on.

In fact, I saw a sign in the Army Surplus store in Stratford upon Avon yesterday and it said "Now is the winter of our discount tents"

If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Keep our fingers crossed for you Mick, hopefully the dates will not tally and you can make it.

Hi,

Put me down for two on the Saturday please.

Don't know 100% we'll be able to make it. We need to find someone to look after our daughter for the weekend but at least there's plenty of time to try and sort it.

Besides I know I'll be kicking myself if I don't book and then we could have made it!!

Thanks,

Glenn (+ Kerry)

To save people going through all this thread, here is what is happening so if you want to join us please post in here..

UK Meet at Hollins Farm, Boot, in the heart of the Lake District, this is scheduled for 2nd 3rd and 4th May 2008. You will need a tent and the campsite charge £7.60 per person per night.

If you want to stop for one night that is fine, the majority of people are stopping on the Saturday night.

If you want to put faces to names of people on here, put your name down.. I will PM you with my address details to forward your payment to me. Please make cheques payable to Mr R Birch and Mrs M R Birch, not forgetting to put your Ba.com name on the reverse, Cheques to reach me before 1st January 2008

We are also in the process of having either a badge / patch made for this ocaassion or a T shirt, Gina (GinaS)is trying to sort a good price for these.

Let's make this the biggest UK meet to date..

Welcome aboard Glenn and Kerry PM sent, to you, will look forward to meeting you both.. Suggest you talk to Dave Hedgehog about a meeting place to ride down and probably meet up beforehand as he is very close to you.

Remember 17th is cut off date and cheques need to be in the BANK by the 1st Jan 2008... Just a few not paid yet..

Hi everyone, meeting up with people wont be a problem, as usual with me it will be an early start, and will proberbly go M25 / M40 way up.. 355 miles from here, so i hope ray can organise some good weather as well.. Can sort out meetup points nearer the time..
Cheers Dave
