I'v been using the washer deal with the kurycrackhead grips for a couple of years. Works well and is about as cheap as you can get. As to being a danger...About the only way I see it could be a problem would be if you blacked out. And then the throttle would indeed be locked at speed. But I would think...that would be the least of your problems in that case....
