I considered The following
VTX 1300 Honda.
1200 Sportster Custom and low.
Speedmaster and America.
Been riding for 26 years on road bikes and trailies, no outright sports bikes, nearest was 1200 bandit. and fancied a cruiser.
I had a test ride on a VTX 1800 at a Honda open day ( No 1300 avalible) Nice big bike but a bit of a handful in B roads.
Tried the 1200 sportsters, nice enough not impressed as much as I thought I would be with handling, finish PRICE.
Tried out a second hand Speedmaster at my Triumph dealer and was very impressed. I was a bit concerned coming of a 1200 Bandit to the 865cc but need not have worried. when they put 865cc and alloy wheels on the America that sealed it.
Very pleased with it still.
