I use Symantic A/V Corporate Edition at work on about 1500 computers (I'm a Network Admin). I am a stout believer in Symantec/Norton antivirus and would recommend using it if you are willing to pay for the software. There are some really great free scanners out there though, one of which is Avast. They have a free "home" version you can use and in my experience (on about 20 systems) it works great.
