Exactly...the true tone is in the fingers.

And like you said about the Orange amps...they're good at what they do...as any quality amp should. I know a bunch of "new-age" rockers who use them for a dirty, gritty metal tone. Do a good job at it, but not for me...my style is blues/country, so I prefer class AB amps over class A.
