True enough but if you're doing covers that'd require a truck load of amps. You're luckt to be the kind of guitarist that has a "sound" and I admire that.
Many of the fellows I work with are stuck copping some studio cat's licks and have to reproduce a certain sound, the Line 6 and amps like it are perfect for that. That said, it will never be a Matchless Chieftan or a Deluxe or an AC30 or a Marshall slant front stack of greenback Celestions but it gets very close.
