Subject says it all. Any fans? I've really enjoyed the journey. My TBA is my own Tardis on many occasions. any fans? What do our state side members think of the new one?

The new one seems to stay 'true' to series. watching it now, sorta miss the low tech special effects, but, time marches on......

Yep I feel the same , but still pretty campy to keep the flavor. I liked the old Dark Shadows too and the remake wasn't nearly as good with the fancy effects.

Yes new season (well new to the US) starts saturday On BBC America. Looks like they are bringing back Billy Piper (I dont care what the Brits say I think shes a doll but will always be no 2 behind Dianna Rigg).

Looks like the spinoff show. "Torchwood" may be worth watching also.

Btw Tom Baker was the best Doctor.

Torchwood is a snip off from the creators of DR Who. It has the carracter Capt Jack Harkness in it, he was kind of a third wheel for a few episodes.
Look here.

Another Tom Baker vote, but that's where I came into the series, learned to appreciate some of the others also, now, about the assistants.....

I miss the old Doctor and Rose. The show is still ok, but not quite as good. The spin off show, Torchwood, I hope will be good.
BBC America rocks!!

I have noticed in the "New Who". most of the episodes seem to center on Earth, Usually Great Britan. (at least this past seasons have).
The original was not like that.

Plus in the new ones, The level of violence has increased,
Humans die in the new ones. As do aliens. Dont recall the the original being like that. As you said Angus time marches on, and times change....

Favorite assistant? Rose Tyler of course from the new.
From the old I'd have to think on that..but leaning towards K-9.

Here's another vote for Tom Baker...perhaps the epitome of "Doctorness".

But I really liked the guy from (new) season one, can't think of his name but also the bad guy from "Gone in 60 Seconds". He was very WHO, and Billie Piper is a hottie, loved Rose, glad to hear they're bringing her back!

Though when it comes down to it...any incarnation of the Doctor is good

I agree I liked the first "new" Doctor too but this guy isn't bad either. I too liked Rose and would like her to come back.

Can't really call myself a fan, but I did watch the original quite a bit while I was growing up. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Her name was Leela! She was after Sarah Jane Smith.
Jo Grant was with the third doctor (Jon Pertwee)

There's been 3 seasons released in Britain so far, and I'm eagerly awaiting the 3rd christmas special. If you're into the new who keep up with torchwood as well, as the storylines end up crossing over.

Wacthed the first episode of Torchwood on BBC America last night. Definatly a link to the Dr Who series. Also saw an
Episode of Dr Who with David Tennent and Billie Piper that I had not seen before. Seems the Sci-Fi channel skips over episodes. Looks like i'll be following both shows on BBC A.

Foot note: BBC America has closed captioning for those of us who may have trouble understanding "The Kings English".

For those of you with a less than legal bent, you can download episodes about 1/2 hour after release from the various BitTorrent search engines, and they often have entire series bundled up into one packet. Now, I'd never actually advise anyone on how to go about this... but if you're REALLY confused you could always send me a PM.

Watched a few minutes of Dr. Who yesterday on BBCA. I don't like the new Dr. as much as the last guy. The last guy I think was the best Dr.

I don't do anagrams, whats it an anagram of?

I either don't get any BBC channels or don't know where they are on my dial,I'll have to check it out and ask someone. I watch it on Sci-Fi and am disappointed to hear they might be skipping episodes, also about not airing Torchwood.
