As bad as it pains me....I sold the America last Saturday. There are a few pieces up for sale in the classifieds. I already miss the bike but was totally frustrated with the whole deal. Chain guard destroys a new rear tire, fender, chain..O.K, add $$$, fix it, ( KNOWN and DOCUMENTED PROB and Triumph is not stepping up on that one. I never did here from triumph dude, whom I E-mailed and called...Thanks Triumph???)ride it. About $1700.00 later, the front end shakes like a dog working over some chew toy. I get on the forum, (everybody tries to help THANKS!!, I will miss that about this place!) add more $$$, nope still shaking. I take it to the dealer, add BIG $$$$, nope, still a bad head shake and bottom line... I no longer trusted the bike.

I have a Black 07 Tiger 1050 on order. I will still be on a Triumph. Thanks a ton to all who helped with my snake bitten ride from the start. Even after all the problems and buckets of money, I still miss the thing. Maybe, just maybe, I bought the other guys problem child...IF I buy another cruiser it will be new in the box.

I will still lurk in the forum...everybody keep the rubber side down and enjoy the ride.

Whew ... when you said "darkside", I thought you meant .... you know.

Best of luck with the Tiger, it's a great looking, "jack of all trades" bike.

You're still family and make one heck of a pool cue.

Regards,

Tom

LOL, no chance of that buddy. I have a thing for British bikes and hope to stay with the Brit stuff. I appreciate it. If that "Unicorn" 1500 every shows up, well who knows.

The Tiger is a great bike! Sorry to hear about the ongoing problems with the America though.

A Tiger is a great bike.. you'll enjoy it. Don't mean you still can't come to the rallies though. Got a Triple myself..

A black 07 Tiger? I thought they were gold, white and blue this year. I guess I haven't seen all the colors. I was sorely tempted to do the same thing, but I will wait another year to decide.

Really lusting after a triple, but, too tall for me. How low can it be lowered? Without damage to handling. sorry for the attempted highjack......

Soren thanks. I am sorry I had all the issues as well.
I really had a hard time turning loose of the title last week.

Pete and Chy, thanks fellas. Bob and I were talkin about GA last night. It is good to know the invite stands. Plan to see a white and a black tiger in Dahlonega. Oh yeah, we are staying for the whole thing...even if I have to throw my cellphone off a bridge somewhere.

Angus, about the lowest you can take it is 2" of drop. The general consensus on the Tiger forum is you need to bring the front forks up the same amount through the trees. No reports of ill handling with that mod..yet. Corbin is almost through with a seat for the new tiger....that should drop you an inch as well. Hope that helps.

Don't be a stranger, "cousin"!

(blood IS thicker than chain-lube, ya know!)

Congrats on the Tiger purchase. Great all-around machine, that one.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

As perfect as my America is, it's hard to believe there are some bad ones out there. Sorry about your trouble and good luck with the Tiger.

No chance of that my man. I am having more trouble with the selling of my bike than any other I have sold in the past. Just looked at the pics again...missing it bad. Hopefully, the Tiger will fill the void.....hopefully.

I have thought and thought about my deal with the America. I really think I bought someone else's problem child. I sat on some new ones at the dealer today while haggling over my deal on the new tiger.....what a sweet bike(the America or Speedy). *#&$^$# hate I could not get the kinks out of mine. Thanks, wish you many miles of joy on your ride.

I rode an 07 Black Tiger yesterday. The only "issues" I had were my arms seemed to obscure most of the mirror image (I think extensions are available), the mirrors themselves seemed to shake a bit and my large noggin seemed to catch the brunt of windblast off the windshield (I think a taller one is available). I'm 6'5" and just sat flatfooted, so it is a tall bike.

The triple is incredibly smooooth and has mucho power . The whole ergonomic thing is so different from the TBA, it would take awhile for controls to become second nature. I wouldn't mind trying though. I bet that thing would devour the miles, especially since it seemed happiest at 85-90.

Hummmmm, there'a a white 07 on the floor?????????????

Sorry for your loss Ezcue, perpetually "snakebit" bikes are a rarity, but also happy for your gain

Hey Joe - sorry to here about the TBA problems, I ride mine to get rid of stess and enjoy - if the bike is causing stress - it's gotta go....

I recall sitting in a BBQ joint in GA having a conversation about the new Tigers....

Would like to hear about your experiences on the Tiger - especially compared to the TBA (of course I'm reffering to the good TBA experiences, not the bad!).

Good luck with the Tiger and ENJOY!

Jeff
