I might try a slightly longer bolt. See my "5mm" post. I felt something similar to the one towrds the back wheel while doing the change out. I put in a 45mm instead of a 40mm bolt and it grabbed fine and set all the way in. Not sure if that will fit on the front one but it might be worth a try before having to do a helicoil or something.
