My friend, you are looking at all the wrong examples, they have double and three times the displacement and are water-cooled.

Also the Triumphs that "stuck it" to the Harleys where not cruisers per se (standard Bonnies). A modern (Triumph) correlation to those models would probably be the Speed Triple (in terms of performance and similar "cool" factor).
