I'm looking at the shorty turn outs that J&P cycles shows in their catalog. I'm sure I'll need to rejet. Has anyone used these pipes and what jets did you use? My local shop wants 350.00 to install a set of pipes just like the J&P ones. I though I might save a few hundred bucks and do it my self. (JP pipes list for 70 each) Does anyone have any suggestion? (No I won't pay for Bubs.)-Brother Fozzie

If these pipes are just slip-ons, your dealership is smoking crack to want to charge you $350, as long as your pipe / header diameters all match up, basic tools and high-temp RTV should be all that you need. Even rejetting shouldn't take all that long.

Jango has been running these pipes for well over a year. They look and sound great.
They have a very "mean" sound to them.
I know he was running 160 mains with the freak, stock pilots.

Do a search for Dinguas web page here. He has illustrated step by step instructions on rejetting the Triumph. If you take your time and apply an ample amount of beer, it takes well under an hour.

I put a set of JCW shorties, baffles removed for about $20 apiece.I rejetted to 135 and they sound sweet.I put K&N's directly on the back of the carbs so they get plenty of air and I'm about 4 turns out on the air/fuel screws.Rejetting isn't hard if you follow the instructions.I've done it acouple of times and just be careful not to get your throttle guides screwed up. They should match up to 1 3/4" header pipes.

I have the 32" and not the shorties which I think are 27". Regardless, IMO they are great pipes and I will buy them again. Quality is not the best but so far mine have held up well and have 2 years ,9000 miles on them. Sound is fantastic and mean as Beavis stated. My first dyno run with them, freak, 160s was 65HP. You can't go wrong for the price.

My suggestion would be to look at the performance guide on the home page and punch in some different pipes and see what people have done with stock airboxes. Stay with stock pilots. I think the turns outs breath better and need bigger jets but that's my opinion so get and average 3 of what people run and go from there. I got lucky off the bat but others have played to get the right combination. Good luck

That's a problem. Your choices are buying round clamps, sheet metal screws to factory brackets, threaded inserts with factory brackets or weld them. Yes you heard me. I tried inserts and I found they came loose. I brought them to a muffler shop and they put a nice bead on there that is well hidden. A little rust preventive and they are on there solid. I keep an eye out to make sure the prevenative work and it looks fine. Nice clean look.

Check oput the 19" turn outs from J C Whitney. I've been running them for over a year now. When someone hears my bike they want to know what pipes they are. I just tell them Triumph customs. These pipes sound great and cost a LOT less.
