DaveM-Route 66 is the classic American cross country pre-freeway highway-there have been songs and TV shows that starred it and the many towns along the way-that put the freedom of the open road in a convertible or on a bike in every kids dreams. It has largely been replaced by multilane divided interstate-but large stretches of it still exist and have an almost cult like following. I lived right beside it in Kingman, Arizona when I was a kid and in Missouri in 2004-5, and always enjoy traveling on the old girl.
