Everyone's experience with the Corbin is different Al. Mine broke in pretty fast for me and I like it because the stock one I couldn't do more than an hour before my butt would hurt.
The Corbin I've ridden ten hour days and my butt has been the only thing not sore. Most have found that getting the "pillow top" stitching on top help with the stiffness of the seat. I've got the backrest and would have to agree with the others that it is the best part of it, althoug I only use mine on long rides. I've found that my seat lower me and pushed me forward so that the pinch I felt between my shoulder blades on rides disappeared.
Recently I bought a sheepskin pad for the seat and that has removed the little butt burn that I still get.
Unfortunately you can't know what will work until you try it. Since the price of a Corbin is so high I would suggest trying other cheaper solutions and if you still have the problem, sell what you have and get the Corbin then.
