Hey, yesterday I won 2nd place for Modern Triumph Motorcycles. Got beat by a T-100, figures knowing the "vintage" crowd.

It was a good weekend. I wish I had a dollar for every time I said, "They never stopped making them", "Yes, they sill make them", or "Yes, they still are British".

Here's pics...

with all due respect keets, i don't know what soren looks like, but i can guarantee you he's not going to look very appealing even in a wet t-shirt ( if he did he would have won second place in that).
Sorry soren, but congrats anyway.
cheers

Your bike looks great, you should have won. Good company there, too, like the HRD Rapide touring model and that sweet blue bobber.

Nope, no wet t-shirt pics. I don't think anyone would want to see me do that. I would have gotten second even if I was the only one.

Since I was manning the RAT tent, I didn't get away as much as wanted to get more pics. Over all there was about a 1000 cars, truck and bikes on Saturday. Yesterday was mainly just a swap meet so, not as many vehicles around. Wish I had about half a million dolars to get all the cars that were for sale though that I liked.

One thing I did learn; There were a handful of Deloreans there. I had always thought they were American cars. But, they were designed by Lotus, about half the parts were made in Ireland and the rest of the parts were made in the U.S. and they were assembled in the U.S.

The last two days almost feel like it was one long day, so I'll remember things a bit at a time.

One more thing, one of my favoite parts of the ABFM every year is the Land Rover rides. For $2 thay take you out on and across (sideways in every direction) the motocross track. Those trucks are amazing. I don't know much about them, the one I was in was a topless '72 (if I remember right), awesome thrilling ride!

Man! What a great day it appears you had, Soren! Looks like the weather was just about perfect too.

Thanks for the great pics and the write up, and congrats on the contest results.

(BTW...I'll take that little blue and white MGA, if you please)

OK, Dwight, you can have the little MGA so long as i can have that purdy little C Type Jag parked behind the Vincent. And if i cant have that then i will take the XK E.

Okay, "Hawkeye"!!! I see the red E-type FHC in the background of the Vincent pic here now, but where is that C-type that you're talkin' about here??? The only thing I see parked behind the Vincent is a BSA Gold Star and what looks like an Egli-Vincent behind that!

Yeah, come to think of it, I just might have to go with either of those Jags too. However, my all time favorite Cat has got to be the long-nosed D-type, and of course, WITH the fin coming off the helmet fairing.

I had an MGA my uncle decided to park it between 2 telephone poles that it wouldn't fit between at about 60mph. I loved the long hood and the way you pretty much sat right on the floor. Was a fun car.

Nice pix.

I almost entered a show the other day just because it was the only british bike there. Would have taken home a little trohy, but didn't feel it was worth the $30 registration fee. Besides, i was a little embarrassed at how dirty she is. And the question I answer the most is "what year is that?"

My mistake, The C type is behind, actually, in front of the Black and White Morgan

Oh YEAH! NOW I see it!!!

Funny though, that picture of the C-type makes it look a awful lot like this Studebaker of Ian's here that I asked him to post a picture of last week!!!
