Sounds like a Hella / BMW socket. One method http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DC-ACCESSORY-CONVE...1QQcmdZViewItemOr send it back and get a weather proof socket from an auto parts store.

Actually I find it quite handy. The BMW type plug is supposed to give a more secure fit than a standard cigarette lighter. The plug is available from your dealer so you can make an adapter from the Powerlet male to a standard cigarette lighter female. Someone also told me that it's available from a John Deere dealer, although I can't confirm that. As was mentioned above parts are available through this link. More info is available here. I use if for a lot of stuff. Camping, boosting dead bikes (takes a while), charging my cell phone, mp3 player, battery tender, etc. Don't know how I ever did without it.

ok...good stuff...all of you. I can see the benefit using the secure connection and then an adaptor. I have heard the word and will purchase

Powerlet also has an adapter for the SAE plug on a battery tender. I called 'em & they made me a long one & did it cheaper than the short one on the website. Good folks.
Said Molly to James, that's a fine motorbike.

FYI... I got the powerlet adaptor (FAST) and it works like a charm. It clicks in nice and tight (much better than the standard power adaptors our cars use. Since I have the FREAK i opted to run it into the open area.
For those that dont know, didnt know of may need to know...the power outlet is constant (meaning it always has 12v of power on it with or without the key). This would be good to know in case you plug something into it and leave it for a period of time and kill your battery.

Hey thanks! I just ordered the 18" cigar adaptor. Taking a trip next week, want to play songs thru my phone/earphones. First time trying this, bet it drains my cell phone battery fast. Think I'll have it by Wed if ordered today (holiday, process tomorrow?).
