To me, it looks like the baby, in the first pic, is actually a doll.
Having spent a fair amount of time around the world, I see whole families going out on their little motorcycle. A couple of kids in front of Dad (driving), Mom holding the baby and several plastic bags of groceries. Heck, I've seen delivery guys balance 3 big ol'propane bottles on their bike.

I still remember a guy, in Taiwan, with a dozen chickens, hanging from each side of the seat as he just putt-putted along.
