True enough although the 16 bit/44.1 kHz sampling rate really reduces the dynamic range to the lowest common denominator when it comes to High Fidelity. I still listen to CDs when I'm doing critical listening but they never compare to the sounds from the premastered DVD session discs. Of course, those session discs are usually played through ultra high power class A mono block amps and exotic Westlake studio monitors at unrealistic frequency response and volume levels.

IMO mulit-CD changers imply background music for which the iPods are supremely suited.
