Echoance, I assume you are referring to "Army of Darkness". Those words were Sam Raimi's homage to one of his all time favorite movies... you guessed it "The Day the Earth Stood Still" 
to expalin more the line was used in much the same way in both movies.
In the day the earth stood still it was the phrase that would stop Gort from destorying the world.
I wonder if in the remake of "the day the earth stood still" they will change the line, so that the yutes who have never seen the original wont think they stole it from "Army of Darkness"
