has anyone here had to replace the ignition control module? mine seems to have gone bad, only firing on one cylinder, getting no spark at the coil, switched wires on coil and was able to get both coils to fire so i suspect the ignition control module has gone bad.

anyone else had this problem?

There have been some that failed. If your bike is an '02 model, you might be able to get it fixed on Triumph's tab because there were some modules installed that year that turned out to be defective. The range of VIN numbers was posted here some time back, and you might be able to turn it up with a search.

I have an '02 BA that experienced a bad coil AND an ignition module at the same time. It sounds like you have a bad module only. Triumph NA has sent me 2 replacement coils and a module by FEDEX as we don't have a dealer here in Saskatchewan...I don't know yet what the final shakedown in terms of cost will be (they haven't invoiced me yet), but these parts can be pricey. I don't mind telling you that I had to make many phone calls to customer service, both in the UK and NA. UK tells me that they can't help NA customers...but, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, I guess. See Greybeards reply as well...best of luck to you. Just as a final note, by all indications, Triumph is/has been having trouble with the Gill coils and igniters for some time now...if they had any brains, they'd 'fess up to the problems, replace these defective parts for their customers and tell Gill to shape up or else.

I finally got around to verifying that it is in fact my ignition control module. triumph dealer wants 544.80.

if I can get triumph to replace it for free that would be great, I can not find any phone numbers on their website. how did you find the phone numbers to call?
