If it's any help to make you feel better:

After a month of owning the 06 I was tired after work. I went out to the bike and got on to go home. I had only just had the alarm fitted, but was still using a disk lock.

Forgot to take the lock off....

One new speedo cable, new caliper hanger bracket and one bent (but not broken) clutch lever.

The bent lever is stil on...
