Knowing people that I've never met (I knew who started this thread just by the title ).

2" thick rib eyes on the grill.

India Pale Ale.

Seeing my kids being successful (means I have time alone with my wife).

Time alone with my wife, sitting on the patio watching a lightning show, sharing a bottle of Gewürztraminer.
(My patio is quite private )

Now I'm hungry. That sounds very good and would make me happy. Except maybe Drop Top Amber Ale instead of IPA.

Gotta respect it Ian.
And watch it from a safe place.
Living my whole life in the desert Southwest (and working outdoors), lightning is a part of life.

And yeah, I remember you telling us about it .
I've been around a few incidents too, so I know where you're coming from, Brother.

I used to love to watch lightning the cloud to cloud stuff is still cool but the dangerous cloud to ground stuff makes me nervous now. Riding home Sat. evening we saw some cool lightning.

Thanks Soren. The Widmer Bros. logo looks familiar.

After riding home tonight I have to add:
A dark empty highway, a clear sky with a full moon, and a purring Triumph under me. Oh, baby, that was a nice run.

So I find out the other day that Portland Oregon not only has the most microbreweries in the greater metro area than any other US city, but also has more strip bars per capita then other US city. Which comedian said "I wanna beer, and I wanna see sumthin nekkid!"?

So here's to beer and b**bs

1. Ditto on riding
2. Watching my kids play, like you said, when they don't KNOW I'm watching, amazes me to see there little minds in action!
3. Doing something spontaneous like stopping to go swimming in the rapids of the Housatonic up in the mountains.
4. People watching from a beergarden, cafe (outdoors during the summer obviously!)

those big smile's i see when i pull into my sons driveway and my granddaughters come running out to meet me!!! a nice quiet, long evening ride with Mrs Newt on Millie when we have no paticular place to go and no specific time to be there. gathering with friends in Ga. for some good rideing and good food. hooking up with my kid brother and getting a spinal adjustment. I get a really big smile on my face everytime i push the starter button on Millie and she fires up.

ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

And somethings(or body's) not even in the pool.

Early mornings. I love walking out to find the sun rising . The air cool and clear.
Plus all the others riding, family, friends and food .
But the best is when you can put more than one together. Such as an early morning ride with good friends(sometime new ones just met)with a stop for some breakfast or lunch then home for the rest of the day with family. Thats got to be the best.

My mind and body are still out of tune I hope they run into each other real soon "

The sound and feel of a well hit golf ball (fairly uncommon.)

"" "" "" "" of my BA passing through 6500 RPM WOT.

A staring contest with a bald eagle last Sunday by the lake.

The “Look” I got from my wife when I told her I was getting a Mini Cooper. (All is right with the world)

Watching my Harley snob riding buddy get real small in my mirrors in turns.

Reducing my opponent to sputtering incoherence and personal epithets in a political argument.

A really cold, albeit cheap, beer after mowing the lawn last Saturday.

Lots of small and previously unappreciated things that I didn’t notice when I was younger.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Walking across campus to class on a cool, crisp morning. I quit my job a year ago and now I'm back in college at the ripe old age of 55. I'm poor as a church mouse, but I haven't been this happy in years.

That cracks me up.
