When I saw the title "The King" I was hoping this was a thread about the king of non-BB rwhp which would be me of course I've been an Elvis fan for a long time and he's ofter compaired to the Beatles as far a how important his impact was on the musical world. One of the better things I've heard on the topic was that Elvis was one man. If any one of the Beatles were in a room full of people and Elvis were to walk in, the whole room would forget that the one Beatle was there. So yes, I agree, Elvis could work a croud better than anyone I can think of.

But ate some bad food and couldn't handle his meds - I'd heard he was dead - But he's on every corner in Vegas...

Regardless of how they felt about each other it's the fans that will decide how they live through history. I grew up on the Beatles, both of my parents were huge Beatles fans, my Dad has all the original Beatles albums, the original pressings so I totally respect both but all I'm saying is that I think Elvis is a better performer than any one of the Beatles.

If I'm not mistaken, both John and Paul had stage fright, and were uncomfortable performing live.

A poor talented young hick is far too naive and trusting. His agent knowing this about him takes advantage of this situation. The agent couldn't care less that the kid's talent is being wasted or not, and thus, going "for the money", puts the kid in one lousy movie after another insuring this wasting of his talent. The kid begins to vegetate, surrounds himself with Yes-men and Hangers-on, and to escape the feeling of all this pressure, starts "self-medicating", which usually doesn't end happily, and it doesn't.

How do ya like my movie treatise, Mr. Spielberg? I only wish I could take credit for it's originality.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
