A little warning about the quarter sticking might have been nice
Sorry...yeah if you let it arc to much you effectivly weld it....

so looks like I need a new solenoid.
Not so fast....you just eliminated the starter as your issue and narrowed it down to two likely candidates...
1. the relay under the tank...the one you hear clicking...it shuts off the headlamp and turns on the starter...its cheap $12.00 from the dealer...(others have found a suitable bosch relay at the auto parts store)
2. the starting solinoid, about $50.00 at the dealership
to confirm that you are getting power to the solinoid short it to the frame (use a light bulb or a voltage meter to do this) touch one lead from the light bulb(voltage meter) to the REAR contact on the solinoid, then touch the other to a clean ground...push the starter button...does the light light(meter register 12 volts) if so your solinoid is the cause...if not (and you hear the relay clicking) then its the relay under the tank....
there IS a slight chance it could be the starter switch itself...lightbulb/meter test the incomming lead on the tank relay if these other tests prove inconclusive...
