Well in some instances I agree. I think you can have a great sounding bike without it being too loud. But the guys with the straight pipes are just out of control. My neighbors HD is so loud that just at idle I can hear it across the street three houses down with my windows closed, a/c on, watching tv and my kids typical screaming. When he leaves I can hear him for a good distance riding away, and he rides like he has his 95 year old grandma on the back.
I love the sound of a bike rumbling by and my bikes have not been exactly quiet. My SM is pretty loud when I open it up but I know I can ride down the street and not ****** anyone off. I think it is about common courtesy and maybe some small *******!
