You ARE correct for bid within the EBAY system the Sniped bid STILL has to be higher than your max bid as you set it up in EBAY's proxy bidder...Outside Ebay and auction "watchers" don't have the time to register...but you're right the bid still has to be higher than the EBAY proxy max bid
