That looks really cool. Those rearsets are slick and those bars are wicked.
But I gotta ask, why did you get rid of your S3? Or why didn't you get a Thruxton? I mean, you can have whatever bike you want and do whatever you want to it. I'm just curious.

"So do you lean on it when you ride it now...like you would a Thruxton?"
There are 2 options: 1) is leaning forward like a Thruxton and 2) is putting my feet on the forward pegs. Now for the reasoning behind this set-up. Next week I will be heading out to Bonneville Salt Flats and will see what it will do in the Run Watch Brung group. It will be the fullfilment of a long time desire to experience the salt. The good things is that I can change back to the stock bars in less then 10 minutes.

The short answer is that I had both for about 8 months. The short version of the long answer is that it was bought because the (ex)wife wanted to ride. Such is life.

Very nice!!! I like the bars but I do not like to ride with sport ergos any longer. But I understand why you did it. How much leg room do you have with the rear controls?

I am 6' and 170 lbs - leg room is snug but I am getting used to it, especially when riding the backroads. On the first try I had them a little higher which was to tight. This location works and I still have the ground clearance needed. I have found that on the interstate and around town I tend to use the front pegs more.

Bill set them up with 142.5 Mains / 22.5 Pilots. They are running good with this but need some adjustment. I am hoping to put it on the dyno this week. When I do I will post the results. What is your set up?

Nice clean job on the shifter mod. A pic of the rear brake would be appreciated.

Nice work Tod. It's great to see what mods folks are doing. It often opens new ideas & possibilities to us all. I'm wondering if a dual circuit rear brake set up could co-exist: one in the stock location, and another on my home made mid ship peg. Probably need some sort of check valve so one circuit doesn't tear up the other with hydraulic pressure? Could be handy to have both when Bambi dive bombs my path with my hoof on the mid peg.

I'm betting the longer rake will really help you on a straight line run. Cool rear sets, they don't look like the usual Norman Hyde stuff, are they something idfferent?

Cool! If you see a black and orange retro-looking harley with about the same stance as your bike (bars pushed forward and rearsets) say hi to Jeff - he's the guy who mounts my tires.

This is my thoughts also: longer rake & lower profile. Although more weight. Rear sets are Valter Moto Type 1 and the bracket is homemade. Master cyclinder from a SV650 and brake line from Spiegler Performance.

Already have gearing options available. As for Rev Limiter: does someone know what it can be pumped up to for best performance?

Maybe I should re-word that. Last July when I was married she was wanting to learn to ride so I bought the Speedmaster and kept the Speed Triple. 7 months later she opted out of the marriage. A few months later the Speed Triple was passed on to a friend which left me with the Speedie to start having more fun with. Now you can see what a few months of contemplating mods has ended up as. All that to say a pillion rider is not a priority at this time.

Hiya, CS. A cafe'd cruiser? Who'da thunked it?! Is it any harder to turn? Or ride? And what the heck's that tube on the side of (what I assume is) the carb? Fuel pipe? Don't 4get the most important mod for speed: paint the ****er black!!

It turns better then ever. Now it is just a little lean and roll on the throttle. That tube on the side of the carb is the fuel line - still working out the best way to route it with the Mikuni's.
