Well , then , that should be a no brainer - the taller one is better , the pad lands in the low back area , also , it's better when you ride solo and need to bungee a bag on . Now , you need to get the OVAL Triumph badge to stick on the back of the pad for a good rear view . Better yet , look up the saddle bag embellisher emblem for a Rocket III and grind off the mounting studs and mount with double-sided body molding tape .

There is nothing 'sissy' about Triumphs. We call them "Backrests".

Get the taller one. I got the short one and it was a mistake. Not that my wife complained but as someone said above it makes bungeeing a package or a pack on easier.
if life gives you lemons keep them because hey, free lemons.

Triumph do a sticky one for the R3 a little larger than the ones they do for our bikes and it looks cool..
Welcome to our humble world, and be prepared to spend, spend spend. These bikes are worse than the wife for gobbling funds up.

I like the look of the shorter bar,but the longer would be better if you are going to be strapping some kind of pack to it, dont think your ladies height would matter much in regardes to either bar, if shes real tall though you may want to consider moving the passenger pegs somhow. My wifes only 5 ft and she complains about the pegs being to high somtimes.

I agree with Oneijack about the pegs, He's got a good point. the one thing that makes a difference about the height of the sissy bar is the size of the tush.

I literally just got done installing the taller bar. (My 7 year old son did the touring seat ) I had read in another thread that everyone liked the shorter one, and I agree it may be nicer looking. That said, I am glad I got the tall one. I plan on doing some longer solo rides requiring gear, rides with my daughter, and with my wife. I'll appreciate the extra height for all I'm sure. Even the tall bar is not very tall at all in my opinion. Worst case, you could probably cut it down if you didn't like it. BTW, I got mine from MADSS.com, good service and best price.
I see a chrome bike and I want to paint it black.

We have the shorter one on the Speedy. Looks better than the tall and no complaints from the wife. We've strapped a bag to it with no trouble.

Or better yet, a quick-detach model.

Regarding relocating pillion pegs - Easiest way to do it is to minus the "peg hanger" brackets. The peg will thread right into the lower front mounting hole where the muffler bracket is. You can back it up with a fender washer.
Said Molly to James, that's a fine motorbike.
