Funny story but true. Terry (My wife) made up her mind to buy the Triumph America so we went to buy it today. Terry is short so it's been difficult to find a bike that fits perfect. She has sat on the America 10 different times in the last couple years I know. So she pretty well knows she can reach everything and hold it up almost flat footed. So, we're in the dealer ready to test ride and then buy, and she tries to lift the kick stand,,,,,,,WHAT,,You can't reach the kick stand!!! I mean, how many times have we ALL sat on a bike in the showroom, getting the feel of the bike, pedal position, seat height etc, and not pull up the kick stand? In all the times that she had sat on an America, she had never tried to lift the side stand. The very tip of her toe was a good 1.5" away from being able to touch it, much less, swing her toe around it to pull it back. Talk about a "slip" for the engineers on that one. No gettin' around THAT so it's a deal breaker. Anyway, we then went and bought the Suzuki S83 which was her second choice.
I keep thinking that I'll be a member of the Triumph community but I keep missing it. There's always my next bike I suppose (LOL)
