This is one situation where I can see a useful purpose for a local steroid addict. Give yourself a good laugh as you read about this Mr. He-man whuppin some thug bank robber's a$$. If you have a high speed connection, watch Mr, Universe describe smashing the crook face on the floor before crushing his ribs in the linked video.

The bodybuilder that made the "citizens arrest" has a website that can be viewed here.

Enjoy!

"Speedmaster" is a title not a name, - and the title is not plural.

"Now I know why I spent all that time in the gym," Todd said with a laugh.

Yeah, until Friday it was just narcissism.

Yep and the next thing that will happen is the bank robber will get a lawyer and sue the guy. And probably the bank too.

WOW - Strong Cynicism from the members here. This is a great story about a citizen who refused to be just another sheep in the herd.
I wish we would see more stories like this one. I really wish other law-abiding folks would take the same stand against the rampant crime that is tearing our country up. Instead, too many people just stand by idly and watch. Very Sad.

I agree with you totally. BUT, instead of making a citizens arrest, he beat the crap out of the guy and now runs the risk of both going to jail for assault, and making sure this little scum bag will be rewarded with some serious cash for his trouble.

I think that comes from seeing "the system" let people off with a slap on the wrists after they kill a motorcyclist with their car (see, Jankow and countless other cases). This is the same system that will not only allow the bank robber to sue the musclehead, but even let the bank robber win. Remember the good old days when the criminal was responsible for all of the consequences related to their criminal act?

Oh, and this isn't really a political thing. Last time I checked, both sides of the aisle were responsible for this state of affairs.

No one said the robber didnt deserve a good a$$ beaten, and no one said that Muscle Head didnt do us all a favor by trashin this creep.

What was said is that he will probly end up paying a price for being a bit over zealous.

That is not right that a criminal can benefit from being arrested. When he decided to rob that bank, he forfeited all rights, in my opinion, and should get what ever is coming to him.

It used to be law in Texas that if someone was breaking into your house and you shot him, you better pull him inside before the cops got there or you could be charged with assault. Our governor is a jerk but he did sponsor a law that this is no longer the case and limits have been placed on lawsuits when a person is commiting a crime.

Shame on them for standing idly by rather than jumping in and risk getting shot, knifed, bludgeoned or stabbed with a syringe. Very sad? Guilty as the next sensible guy, y'honour!

I understand your cynicism, 03, but there are too many implications for 'having a go', not least of all personal harm. It's already been mentioned here but when the original perp. can sue the 'hero' because he messed up his hair, that's when it's time to stand in the 'Very Sad' queue and examine your shoes.

*shrugs* That's life.

I thought that was in Washington, not California.

That's Life? Sitting idly by when a crime is being committed is "life"? More like "hiding in a hole, waiting to be the next victim" IMO.
Yes, the legal system here is messed up at times. I believe it's attributable to the same folks that sit there and allow for crap like that to happen. We need to change our system so that our concerned citizens can step up, stop criminals and not be scared about the legal ramifications of their crime-stopping behavior. If something is not done, and soon, to change the situation, we will be actively fighting every day just to go buy milk at the store.
The guy who stepped up and stopped that scumbag isn't a "hero", just a great American who cares about our society. I wish there were more of us.
