What Dwight said! I think they could have done a seriously fast bike appointed very well for less than 10k. I think they would have sold them all anyhow. I agree they underestimated how much folks will pay for them.
I think many have about that much in theirs anyhow, but after-market companies got to keep the money.

Offer two bikes kinda like the car industry. Mustang or Mustang GT. Speedmaster or Speedmaster- S with cams, carbs, suspension etc. Naturally the S model would be a few grand higher. I bet it would sell.
Yes they are as fast or faster than the bigger cruisers. Triumph should never worry about what the other are doing, they should do what they are capable of doing all the time. Kinda like "Go you own way",
