Just thought I'd check back to see if anyone has put any "noggin" to this notion. Also if anyone has an internal tank diagram they could pass my way I'd appreciate it.

I have an ocular sensory gauge on my bike. It works really well. I simply look in the tank and if I see gas it aint empty.

The odometer is your gas gauge. When you hit a hundred miles, start looking for fuel.
Regardless of how much you have used, this method takes the guesswork out of the equation.

I do that too but sometimes I need to use my lighter as it's dark in there.
I bet he would like a real answer though.

I guess one thing this site is certainly not lacking is smarta$$ remarks. It does make the day go by quicker; only 90 more minutes and I get to ride.

So the using my zippo is not a good idea for checking the fuel level?
I start looking for gas around 100 miles or so....
I would rather be surrounded by a bunch of smarta$$es than a bunch of dumba$$es.

It sounds technically complicated on our bike because of the design of the fuel tank. Best bet is look at odometer. I usually go on reserve at 125.

Geez, I never thought of that. I just didn't want you to run out of gas. That's the way I check mine. I'm doing it as I type as a matter of fa... - BOOOOOM!!! - What the hell was that?
A poor guy asks a simple and serious question about a fuel guage - and we idiots behave like this. It's no wonder we get no respect.

I liked the way Steve McQueen looked in the tank and sloshed it around in The Great Escape. I try that even though I can't see anything -- just cause it looks cool.

That was written on one of the stickers you peeled off the gas tank.
