I don't agree with that at all, it's ben my expierence that the powers that be are usually pretty straight forward.

Exactly, UC!!! This STILL sounds a bit fishy to me! (but ya never know, I guess....I say let me see the memo! I'll read it and then decide....unlike most Congressmen who pass resolutions without doin' that sort'a thing!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I still don't get what purpose this is supposed to serve. What could possibly be the reasoning behind this?

I still find it hard to believe that a former naval officer would do something like this.
Charlie, as someone who's enlisted in the Navy, I don't find it hard to believe at all, I've been to the "Naval Leadership" schools and I have to say, officers in the Navy are taught to be as PC as physically possible. After the Tailhook thing in 91 the Navy has been relieving officers left and right for the smallest infractions of "political correctness" and since the Navy has been ramming down everyones throats it naturally gets carried on in post Navy life.

I guess I live in the past. Both my parents were naval officers. My dad's gone, but Mom will be 90 next month. I didn't tell her about this nonsense, it would ****** her off!

There is a line that society has been dealing with for awhile now that started this whole PC thing and that is the difference between being considerate and being to just plain passive aggressive. What is interesting to me is how much longer this phase is going to last before it starts going the other way? I think it has already started. Some people are now finding it refreshing when others are straight forward, rather than dancing around a topic. Take the popularity of the show House for example. He is over the top at times, but it is enjoyable to see someone getting away with what a lot of us want to say sometimes.

There are literally thousands of politcally correct do-gooders in positions of influlence and power that would very much like to delegate and impose politically correct doctrine on all of us. Its a sad commentary in our country today. We can thank the ACLU and its minions and the large volume of attorneys who support this type of mindset. This was supposed to be a quote from earlier in the thread
And if we don't stop them soon, we will not have the lifestyle we cherish. And all those who have died for our freedoms will be shamed, by us, for allowing them to be stripped away.
I say bring this to the forefront. Radio, Newspapers, Television, get all the media involved. As Americans, we cannot stand for this!
