You certainly can mix radial and bias ply on bikes. The T 100 for example comes with a Metzeler MEZ2 steel belted radial on the rear and a Lazertec bias ply on the front from the factory.
I personally run mixed bias/radial on my Scrambler, Metz Tourance steel belted radial rear and Metz Tourance , bias on the front.
