Just got my copy of the new Triumph Mag & thought it was ok; however was disappointed to see that no Speedmaster or America attention was given. Is it just me or are the Americas & Speedmasters treated like the black sheep of the Triumph family. When i first laid eyes on my Speedmaster i instantly fell in love with it and thought it would become an instant modern classic; yet i cant believe the lack of attention they get from both Triumph itself & the motorcycle world. In one way its good because i feel like im riding one of motorcyclings best kept secrets (and it never fails to get attention on the street) but in another way i feel it doesnt get the recognition it deserves for being a modern classic. Dont know whether to laugh or cry..

first time I sat on one, it "just fit" You can't argue with those metaphysical cues like that !

They have been around for a while now. The novelty has worn off for the magazines. Everybody knows they are good looking. They are not mechanical wonders by any stretch so there is little to talk about. "2007 Speedmaster still pretty!" See, what else to say?
They don't pay the rent for Triumph either. Bonneville is the one that pays the rent, followed by T-100 then the sport bikes.
As above, when I sit on mine, it just fits. Works for me, I don't care what Triumph, the company thinks, it just fits.

Ade, you nailed my sentiments exactly. Soemtimes it feels like Triumph doesnt even want to acknowledge that our bikes exist at all. However, their excuse for the lack of publicity is that they sell every single one they build, so no need for publicity.

First of all, no magazine should make you cry. Second, our bikes sell. In business, you push the products that don't sell. Third, why the heck would you want any 'recognition of a classic' from the company that makes it? They already know! I'd rather see other publications/organizations give these bikes some recognition. That's the real crime here. If you're really worried that much about seeing your bike in print, here's an idea: GO FOR A RIDE.

They do sell every bike they make. They sell them to dealers. Lots of 2006 Speedmaster and America still for sale around the country. There is a pretty black and red 06 speedy in Austin Texas just hanging out on the floor since it got there a year ago. $7999.00 tag has dust on it now.
Other organizations are impressed John. They were impressed in 2002. 7 years later raving about the pretty small sized bike with a chain and air cooled motor just gets old. They are very basic motorcycles that are fabulous to look at.
Good advice, to just ride it and like it. I don't care what they write or don't write, I just like to ride it.

Yep Adrian! You're just going to have to learn to live with the fact that these bikes o' ours are pretty much considered the proverbial "Redheaded Stepchild", Dude!!! Kind'a like this lady, Angie Everhart here is... ..."the poor thing"!!!

I know that over here in NZ the TBA and SM are triumphs biggest selling bike. Walk into the biggest dealer in the capital here and you would be lucky to see one, most are sold as they hit the floor.

I got my Triumph Magazine (or should I say Glossy Advertising Spectacle)and was disgusted too say the least, no tests, nothing bout riders, nothing bout accessories, hardly nothing bout Triumph at all, but full of trendy ads for exotic cars and stuff - I really think the boffins at Triumph are out of touch with what the riders want and what we are all about.
