Two weeks ago I was on my way to Lowes when I got hit from behind. Went to make a right at the intersection and moved about a foot. The traffic was going a little to fast and thought better of it and stopped. Unfortunatly the driver behind was NOT thinking and bumped me from behind. It was a bad combo of 20 year old, driver, and cell phone and I was the unfortunate smuch that happened to be in front of her! I was able to get all of her information and called the police to get an accident report and gave her a firm( Did not throw a rant at the kid) lecture on cell phone usage at an intersection. She took out the tail light and mashed in the fender. It was drivable but I had to call my wife to come and follow me home since I had no brake light. When I got home I called her insurence and submitted a claim. Every thing went through their process and their check was sent out today to me and I called the dealer to give the go ahead to order the parts. So I will get a new fender, rear light, licence plate holder, rear turn signals, and saddle bags. I guess the good news is that I did not get hurt and this will not be comming out of my pocket! I should have Sadie back next week.

Glad all worked out for you with minor hassle. My best friend just got nailed in exactly the same way on his new '07 Ultraglide. The fender folded into the tire and it had to be towed. Get this: 12 weeks for parts! I loaned him my TBS for the summer. The insurance would only give him $25 a day to rent a bike or car. Mike Sr.

Travelled the California Pacific Highway (?) from Sandy Ego to LAX in 2005 and couldn't believe what the door slammers were doing when they were supposed to be driving.
Glad you were Ok and that sadie will be back home soon.
If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Actually sadie will be getting a new rump! The old license plate holder was crome so the new one it better be! As for the fender I made it clear to the dealer's shop that I want my old stuff. There is a good deal that is salvageable and I think that the fender is repairable. The damage is at the bottom and if it can't be repaired then I'll bob it. That will be one of my winter projects.

Do like I did when I was assended...get a high quote from a dealer, then buy the parts yourself and install them, pocket the labor money....I made $400 on my minor fender bender...
