I just posted another thread about me and Mike replacing his broken belt and there is something I found out. In the literature Mike brought over from Gates, they said that most noises from belts are due to minute misalignments.
Don't know if this helps, but it may be of assistance.
Keep the rubber side down, shiny parts up.
