All: Was anyone from this site at the Ephrata, Pa breakfast ride yesterday? I noticed two TBA's. One Mulberry Red (best color , the other I believe was black (however, not factory paint). Also, two speedmasters. One black and one black/sunset red. Just wondering. Steve

Didn't even know about it, I was away all weekend and end of last week. Too bad I would have made an appearance if I had known. I didn't have to be at the bluegrass festival until each afternoon even though it started in the AM.

Dog_33,
Its a good time. They do it the first Sunday of every month at the American Legion Hall in Ephrata. Must have been about 2000 bikes there this time. Let me know if your ever down around the Philly suburbs. I'm about 45mins West of Philly and always in the mood for a ride and some lunch.

I'm only a little better than an hr from there. Ask Tom (brokenfixed) he recently made the trip so I could work on his scoot. He might know the time better. Maybe the 4 of us could make a day of it and all go for a ride.4 Being Wendy and I plus you 2.
P.S. I don't like city driving so lets plan something for out of town riding. I took Tom on a great ride up this way. Wendy is a little slow we need to keep that in mind her bike is low and drags on crowned roads.

Sounds like a plan. Concerning city driving, I'm the same. If we go about 15 minutes West of Coatesville, we'll be in Amish country with the horse and buggies. Good roads (i.e. not much traffic), great food. Plenty of history. Let me know how your weekends look for the rest of the season. I'm somewhat flexible with respect to days. Or perhaps we could swing up your way. Eitherway.

Either one sounds good to me. I like Amish country and think Wendy would enjoy that. Trouble is I work almost every weekend.I think we might have not this weekend free but the following. We are vending at Carbon County Fair this weekend. Let me know what you want to do and Tom can chime in any time with his input.Maybe even CMW3 would be interested he is down near Hamberg.

I've been a bunch, always a good event and ride there (about 2.5 hours from my place in MD). Haven't been this year since my brother, in Hanover PA sold his bike. I might try to make the Sept ride if there will be some TBA members. Only downside it is the Labor Day weekend I believe. I passed last year (on the holiday weekend) and my brother said it was the biggest turnout he's seen yet.

Oh, is this something that they do more than once? Maybe I can make it on another date.

1st Sunday of the month, April thru Oct. Get there by 9 AM to get a decent parking spot. Food is mediocre, we usually just get coffee.

Dog and SSjones,
I'm in if you guys want to go next month. Also, there are some little dinners right off of PA 322 (outside Ephrata) if we desire a little better food. Just a thought.

I don't like fancy places but a good diner sounds good or an open pit BBQ or something.I was thinking maybe sunday the 19th. I work most weekends. I might be free the sunday after that too. Wendy like the idea of cruising through the Amish country. Just let me know and if I am free that day I'm in. It doesn't have to be a sunday any day is cool with me. I am free almost any week day for that matter.

either day is fine with me I am over an hour away so I can't be there too early could probabky make 9AM give or take. We need to pick a place to meet and nail down a day. We also need a route since I have no idea where I am going down that way. When the time comes we can all exchange phone numbers to coordinate, running late etc..
Wendy and I have a couple free nights at super 8 comming maybe we will make a weekend of it.

Still looking to do this ride, I agree with Tom though we could skip the big crowd and meet at a different place for a cup of coffee then go for the ride.

Looks like I'm in for Ephrata (or whereever) on Sept 2nd, Sunday. Wife is taking me to an Elvis/Wine Festival on Saturday, so I'll need recovery therapy.
Anyone else game for 9/2? The Ephrata thing is really cool and you can stay as long or little as you like. I am 2.5 hours away, so something closer to Hagerstown MD would also suit.

Have to see about 9/2 I don't know what we have going that day.I was thinking the 18th or 19th of this month for the Amish area ride. But another on 9/2 if I am free is cool too. I know I have next weekend and the one after free. After that not sure.

No if we can swing it I would like to meet up and ride with a few guys. If it has to be at the breakfast thing then I guess we could do that. I would like to do the Amish thing and Wendy is looking forward to it. If we can't get it together then I am always ready for a ride up this way pretty much anytime.Would be nice to meet some new faces as well.

I'm going somewhere in that vicinity on 9/2 - either Ephrata or maybe the Union Hotel in MD.

Folks: It looks like three MD America's are riding up to Ephrata on Sunday, 9/2. I'm meeting Snekepete & Oz near Gettysburg on Rt. 15 or at the HD dealer on Rt. 30. Meeting some Baltimore folks in York at the 83/30 interchange. Any interest here?

AAARGH! I'm going to be at Penn State for the weekend. I have not been to Ephrata for a while, always lots of bikes. It's a fun run for me from Southwest of Philly.
Women and cats will do as they please. Men and dogs should just get used to that fact and relax

Here's our plans so far: 8 AM - Meet near Gettysburg of Rt. 15 at the Outlet Stores exit, at the C-store 9 AM - Meet some Triumph friends riding up from Baltimore at Laugerman's HD in York 9:45 - Be at the event, American Legion in Ephrata. (via Rt. 222, use exit for Rt. 322 into town) Just follow the hordes of bikes anywhere near Ephrata to the Legion site. Better call my cell when you get there, 301-676-6004 Or meet us at any of those spots above?
Anyone else going?

Great ride today. My daughter and I along with Snepkepte and Oz were able to meet Mr & Mrs. Dog in the flesh. Nice to put a face to a name (Ian). Hope you had a safe ride home. My daughter was pooped, this was the longest ride she had been on by far (about 250 or so).

Yep, sorry I didn't post last night we went riding. Didn't get home until well after dark and pretty much went to bed right away. Was nice to meet all you guys too.We had hoped to take a ride with you guys but Wendy was bored and we had been there almost 3 hrs at the point we left. Glad you guys were understanding about that. I would imagine your daughter was pooped,I couldn't imagine long rides in her riding position. Glad you guys made it safe as well.

Like we mentioned way back in this thread, that's probably not the best place to hang around and chat, etc. Jus too many folks/bikes to gawk at. Here's a shot of your wife and your bikes I snapped:

My daughter and our bikes. Guess it would have been nice to snap one of her and me, we don't get to ride together that often, way to go Dad! Dad's bike served as the pack rat and clothes hangar. Darn sport bikes can't carry a thing!

Like the pics...nice work. I have the same colour BA and am considering some upgrades which would definitely include a light bar and risers for handlebars. I would like to stay with stock bars but am considering the risers. As far as the light bar goes...where did you get it? much to the install? and re-locating signals? The suspension upgrades are something I haven't thought about too much but am wondering about increased comfort for a passenger, yes/no?? Thanks, Ron

I assume you are asking about my America. The lightbar is a standard Triumph accesory, they are about $295. Bar came on my used bike, but looks like an easy install. I moved the turnsignals myself. There is a nice write up in the Tech Vault on how to do that job. Stock risers, but HD Heritage Bars, with in-bar wires.
