Turns out, the Nology coils I installed are the cause of the problem. I am pretty friggin mad about that but I am ecstatic that she is now running perfectly again. In this heat, it would have started crapping out in about a mile. 20 miles later, she was still running strong. Problem solved

I also had the alternator cover off checking things so before I buttoned it up, I checked the coil gap. Dead nuts on 0.8mm. That made me happy too!
