It's an easy mod and looks good in my opinion. A hint is to remove the bars from the bike to do it. Makes it easy and actually saves time from what I have heard from those who didn't. I sat in my livingroom and watched Tv while I did it to both of our bikes.

It's an easy job I would do it for people that brought me their bike.

quick suggestion, though: if you plan on ever adding an aftermarket tach (or clock, etc) be careful about where you drill the hole in the middle of your bars. I ended up having to mount my drag specialities tach in the dash (would have preferred somewhere a little more visible) because of the fact that i drilled the hole right in the middle of the risers. and, it is pretty easy, although i don't think i'd volunteer to do it for free as Ian is doing.

I ran a piece of heavy monofilament fishing line through the holes I drilled on each side. Left plenty on either end. Taped each wire to the mono to pull it through. Definitely only use 18 gauge wire. I found out color really doesn't matter, you can use all black. I pulled one wire at a time, soldered and heat-shrink tapped it. Take the handle bars off and unplug the wires from inside the headlight bucket, and all (or most) of the soldering can be done on a bench or table. Sure beats the mid-air soldering method I did. I'm still half asleep, but I believe Phil's write up shows this method as well.

Well there's no super fun ferry ride to Rob's house, but a day wrench trip would certainly do it. Most of my "shop" us not very accessable right now, but the bench vice is!
