Part of it also depends on the quality of the air and oil filters that you use. Poor quality then you need to change the oil and filters more often. High quality you can run it for extended periods. For 22 years I have been changing the oil in all my all vehicles once a year, with all of them running as good or better when I sold them as they did when I first bought them. The key is running with the trio of a high quality syn oil, oil filter and air filter.
