A lot of us the Shell Rotella T synthetic 5w40. Comes in the blue gallon jugs at WallyMart for about $16. It says synthetic, but is most likely semi-synthetic actually. But regardless, it works just fine, motor stays cool, shifts quietly, never had any clutch slippage (even with big bore and Barnett heavy duty clutch). You really can use just about any type of oil you want though as long as it does not have friction modifiers in it - they make our wet clutches slip.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.
