In my case stripping the wax and external grease is the point since I'm going to go over all of those surfaces with my favorite polishing agents, Meguiars Yellow Carnuba Wax and Wenol on the chrome. In my opinion there's not enough surface area to winge about. Of course, that's just my opinion. I want my baby shiny and bright when it's drawing a crowd of drooling HD owners.
