Found out why switch harness' are so long, it had frikkin' "ape hanger" handle bars on it!!!! DUH...and I was the one that took them off....anyway, diked ape hanger extensions off, re-soldered bullet connectors, everything hooked up, but looks like crap (all connectors bundled into golf ball sized clump), but will have to work for now..
