I think the "retro" comes from the fact that it is a four cyclinder, aircooled motor in a tubular cradel frame with twin shocks on the back and regular front forks.
If it was non retro, it would have had single shock rear suspension, upside down forks, it would have been water cooled and the engine would have been either a stressed member of the chassis or it would be hanging from a twin spar frame or a spine frame.
I pass this a a retro, Modern, but retor. I like it.
But as i have said many times, i am bias. I have always had a thing for UJMs.
