I tend, despite the desire to do otherwise, to just get the ****** away from a-holes, cause like the saying goes, "you can't teach old dogs new tricks", so once an a-hole, always an a-hole. Why bother getting your point across and maybe getting killed to teach a lesson to someone who won't learn that lesson.

I think the reason such atrocious behavior is demonstrated by so many people today is that there are no longer any consequences for rude inconsiderate actions. From teenagers who can’t say three words without two of them being obscenities, to idiots who rudely cut you off in traffic while flipping you the bird and fools like the woman in the Camaro who willfully endangered the lives of five people on motorcycles because, well, who knows why. Grandma gave that young twit some consequences for her behavior. Perhaps she’ll act differently next time some motorcycles start to pass her. In the past few years I’ve meted out consequences for two people who made serious attempts to kill me. One through inattention and the other with malice. I’m hopeful that the very unpleasant memories of their interaction with me will help them modify their actions in the future. The old bumper sticker “An Armed Society Is A Polite Society” speaks to a very real need in today’s society. Unless we are willing to provide negative consequences for dangerous, rude and inconsiderate behavior there will always be airheads and jerks willing to endanger and offend us.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
