Sorry if it sounded like a smarta$$ answer, wasn't intended to be.
But it is something that most of us experience with the stock carbs. I think that maybe drilling out the little magic hole to 7/64" may also help. This stabilizes the vacuum a bit more. Maybe I'll do that next time I yank mine off.
