Does anyone know if the Willie and Max Univ bracket fits the BA properly, for their large slant bags?

IMO, for the way they look, you'd be better off with the Honda Magna brackets. I have those brackets with the Willie&Max Braided Fleetside Slant Saddlebags and it's a good cheap option($50 for the Magna guards, and $100 for the bags). I've added a piece of sheet aluminum I got at Home Depot to reinforce the side next to the bag guards, and drilled a couple of holes through them so I can zip tie the bags to the guards. Really makes for a secure fit.

If you're looking to install saddlebags permanently to the bike, I'd go ahead and spend the money for some quality bags. I don't think the Willie&Max will hold up to daily use/abuse.

I got mine from mawonline.com . The part # is (60483) $55.95 M/C Enterprises Saddlebag Guards HON #143 Mfg.#: 143. Might want to check around. Looks like mawonline has raised their price since I bought them. Also got the Willie&Max bags from them at the same time. The bad thing about that vendor is they have hidden charges. They tack on 4% of your order total for "Handling and insurance charges" in addition to shipping.

I got the brackets for my willie&max bags from jcwhitney. The Item # was "015682 SADDLEBAG SUPPORTS". $44.99 in Feb.'05. Fits and works fine though the bolts are a bit long.

***FYI, Went poking around and can't seem to find it anymore on JCWhitney..maybe the model # changed. My be worth a look around though.

I agree I didnt think the willie & max bags would hold up to well either. But I had mine over a year and use them regularly. Mine are too small but that's my fault. Anyway they have held up pretty well and mine are mounted with the easy bracket set up.Which was to easy with the sissy bar but the easy bracket folks sorted it out pretty well. Anyway my point now that im finaly too it was after riding in a steady down pour for and hour and a half I was really supprise to find the contents nice and dry. So I will give them that.

Have got to disagree with you there, I had a set of fleetside slant's that I used everyday for 6 1/2 months (24,000 miles)and were probably packed over the recommended weight. At the end, they were getting a bit worn, but I figured that the use I had out of them was equivalent to 4 years "normal" use. Would have bought another set if I could have got them at a reasonable price over here.
