IMO,
for the way they look, you'd be better off with the Honda Magna brackets. I have those brackets with the Willie&Max Braided Fleetside Slant Saddlebags and it's a good cheap option($50 for the Magna guards, and $100 for the bags). I've added a piece of sheet aluminum I got at Home Depot to reinforce the side next to the bag guards, and drilled a couple of holes through them so I can zip tie the bags to the guards. Really makes for a secure fit.
If you're looking to install saddlebags permanently to the bike, I'd go ahead and spend the money for some quality bags. I don't think the Willie&Max will hold up to daily use/abuse.
