ok , here it is bolted on the bike. just a bit of gentle fitting. the only thing I have cut so far is the mounting tab from the rear of the tank, then drilled a hole for the america tank bolt. now I have to paint the tank and get some tank badges. I don't think the america badges fit the bonnie tanks.

Dude, I'm going out on a limb here, and saying it looks great! I looked into that a couple of years ago, and didn't have the tools to make it work, but you've done a nice job. Any more pics?

Pete, The Badges should fit. My Classic badges from the America fit the Scrambler and I don't think the Bonny is any different.

The badges WILL fit. If you look at the Sixty8 range they have our badges with different coloured enamel in...
That and I currently have Bonnie badges on my America....
Tank looks cool...just a little small
Gina
03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel...
06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel...
09 America - It's very blue....

I like what you did to the carbs Pete. The black bodies make the chrome bowls really stand out.

Please show us the left side. The right side cover panel is a very nice touch.

I do not remember the year , I think it was 05?
the front mount for the tank of the america is almost 1" wider than the bonnie tank.
to spread this part of the tunnel I used an old car scissor(sp) jack.
the hammer came into play when making clearence for the relays and the cdi, and the rear motormount bolts.

I have always liked their sound, and I got the pair used at a local custom bike shop for about 1/2 price of new.

Very pretty Pete, way to go. Will you be adding the obligatory tank rack to further fuel the retro look?

& I'd like to hear a bit more about polishing float bowls. Once when I had mine off, I hit one a little bit with a wheel. It didn't seem real willin'.

not sure on the tank rack. not sure what the final paint will look like yet.

I may just shoot the tank gloss black and be done. I have a plain black front fender that I can put on anyway.

ok,lets count I have 2 bikes , the 02 and the 07. that counts for 2 tanks 2 fronts and 2 rears. add to that I have 3 fronts and 1 rear( hard to find rears ) and 5 tanks. all of the extras I got from ebay , then I traded 1 tank ( the original red tank from my 02 ) ( the pumpkin tank ) for the bonnie tank. summary, ( set has tank and front fender )
02 cardinal red set cardinal red american flag set black british flag set black and rust(reddish) custom set ( see above ) mullberry tank red bonnie tank 07 pacific blue / antque white set
1 cardinal red rear ( stock 02 ) 1 pacific blue rear ( stock 07 ) 1 black rear ( ebay )
as far as I know the only set Triumph sold that came with the rear fender was the green and cream set, sold in limited numbers pre fire.
green and cream
good thing I will not knowingly bid against a ba.com member
